Personnel Development

Personnel development

Securing competencies

Personnel development encompasses all measures that are tailored to the needs and requirements of the organization and deal with the initial, in-service and job-related training and development of personnel, as well as the derivation of suitable measures and strategies from the corporate objectives with the aim of qualifying personnel.

Aspects of organizational development and the needs of the company’s various stakeholder groups (e.g., career starters, Skilled employees, high potentials) are considered.

Preparation for future requirements

Personnel development is a branch of human resources management within business administration, organizational sociology, adult education (andragogy) within pedagogy as well as personnel psychology or business psychology with the aim of enabling people, teams, and organizations to successfully and efficiently master their tasks in operational work systems and to face new challenges with self-confidence and motivation.

Strategic Personnel development refers to the planning activities aimed at preparing employees’ competencies for the company’s future requirements, which are derived from the corporate strategy and vision.

In addition to promoting job-relevant knowledge, skills, and attitudes through education and training measures (seminars and training programs), it also includes advice on workplace design. This refers to all measures taken to systematically promote the professional competence of individuals working in and for an organization.

The professional idea, which is based on having undergone a clearly defined education and which has since developed further through real on-the-job training, is becoming more and more defensive. Today, the profession is at best an entrance ticket to the foyer of professional life, which after a few years is hardly suitable as a ticket for the next levels of the career ladder.
