Highly Qualified Employees for Biopharmaceutical Industry

To ensure patients a gentle, effective and at the same time efficient treatment,  research-driven pharmaceutical companies need to develop, improve and launch qualitatively outstanding therapies and pharmaceuticals. Cooperation to meet the growing needs of biopharmaceutical industry

PAREXEL International and TÜV Rheinland Academy & Life Care have entered into discussions regarding a possible cooperation in respect of building global standards for education and training in the field of Clinical Research. The cooperation aims to deliver tailored, meaningful and effective education and training programs to meet the increasing global demand for professionals in the biopharmaceutical industry and build a sustainable talent pipeline. Therefore, Prof. Dr. Ulf Schneider, PAREXEL International, and Enrico Rühle, TÜV Rheinland Academy & Life Care, had plan to cooperate in training business a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”). By concluding this MoU, both parties expressed their intention to explore the possibility of a cooperation its terms and conditions further.

Key issues of the co-operation between PAREXEL and TÜV Rheinland

As key issues have been defined:

  1. to explore the possibility of a co-operation in respect of offering and marketing trainings in the field of Clinical Research on a global scale by using both parties’ expertise.
  2. to co-operate in defined education and training areas, e.g.:
    • roll-out of PAREXEL Academy programs delivered at selected TÜV Rheinland Academy’s locations Germany, Greater China, South Korea, Japan, and further locations in Europe and South America.
    • set up of both, joint full-time and part-time certificate programs, and degree programs with established university partnerships.

 

Further more, the coooperation includes:

  • to use TÜV Rheinland Integrated Learning Management System (ILMS).
  • to market defined portfolio and use as recruitment instrument.
  • to implement an online job portal to place graduates and build a constant talent pipeline.

 

As the first action points have been defined:

  • to offer Site Staff Trainings in the field of Clinical Research at selected locations of TÜV Rheinland Academy in Germany.
  • to roll-out a joint „Nursing School“ program with a pilot in Poland with the perspective of expanding program offer in Eastern Europe.
  • to implement TÜV Rheinland ILMS into the PAREXEL learning environment.

The development of new products and services in TÜV Rheinland Romania is related to a new business stream called Life Care which provides services like occupational health, work protection and safety, health management, medical devices, prevention and wellness.

First successful Business Breakfast

This year, TÜV Rheinland Romania planned to organize a series of events called suggestively Business Breakfast. By organizing these events, TÜV Rheinland Romania has proposed to initiate an effective dialogue within the business environment focused on a certain theme in areas such as Health & Safety, Informational Security, Food Safety, etc.

The first Business Breakfast was held in Bucharest on 29th May and the main discussed topics were related to the Construction area. The experts have claimed three short presentations and answered the guests’ questions, who were very satisfied in terms of H&S information and news related to the topic. The event was opened by Mr. Lucian Adrian Frantiu, Managing Director of TÜV Rheinland Romania through a short presentation about the offered services in Romania. After that Mr. Nikolaus Graen, EU Sales and Project Management Occupational Health and Safety of TÜV Rheinland Life & Care presented information on OSH Statistics, European and Romanian Legislation, OSH requirements on construction sites (GD no.300/2006) regarding  work place preparation and work place execution,  Duties on construction sites: of clients/project managers, of employers, Effects and results of accidents on employers and last but not least Services and References of TÜV Rheinland. The last presentation was held by Mr. Campean, Construction expert, about specific risk situations on construction sites, the risks with subcontractors.

We had audience formed by 15 participants from 10 construction companies which provided a very good feedback regarding the new field of activity. Due to the highl level of interest, we already held Start-up meetings with two strategic customers in terms of Stress management and Road transport of dangerous goods.

In Września – between Frankfurt Oder and Warsaw – the brand Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge is building a new factory. Occupational health and safety prevention plays a major role at the building site. We are proud that VW, as investor, has commissioned and authorized TÜV Rheinland Poland to manage safety surveillance.

Construction sites are among the most dangerous places for workers. Rife with risk, there are a number of injuries that can occur on the job. In order to prevent dangers like damages to health and goods, Volkswagen AG has commissioned TÜV Rheinland with the supervision and coordination of safety in the construction of their new commercial vehicles plant in Poland.

Representatives of TÜV Rheinland visit the VW construction site in Wrzesnia, Poland.

The VW factory for the production of the successor model to the VW Crafter is being built on a site of 224 hectares in Wrzesnia near the western Polish city of Poznan. About 3,000 people will be employed in the new manufacturing facility which includes the body constructions, paint shop and assembly areas as well as a supplier park. Construction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2016.

At the peak of the construction project, around 2,000 people of all trades will be working on the construction site in Wrzesnia. Therefore, ensuring safe working conditions has the highest priority. The commissioning of TÜV Rheinland primarily comprises of the supervision and coordination of health and security personnel of the various contractors employed on site. The occupational safety experts of our company will ensure that construction proceeds smoothly without any time lost arising from potential threats and accidents.

“Educational and practical guide for welder training” presented in Moscow

 textbook-welding-russiaThe freshly published training guide is designed for theoretical and practical training of prospective welders at the training sites of the construction industry in Russia. The outcome of the cooperation between TÜV Rheinland Academy, Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) and NOSTROY (National Association of Builders) Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) war presented to the public in Moscow on 14th November, 2014 during the international scientific conference “Integration, Partnership and Innovations in Construction Science and Education” at MGSU by the project partners Elena Gogina (Vice-Rector of MGSU), Nadezhda Prokopeva (Director of the Nostroy department of vocational education and qualification standards) and Ursula Taege from TÜV Rheinland Academy.

Demographic Change in Poland Places New Demands on Society

The first congress of the Polish senior citizens economy created a new model for private and public investment in services for the elderly.

On October 29, 2014, the first congress of the so-called “silver economy” took place in Poland. The topics included:

  • Demographic change and new economic challenges.
  • Options for financing programs for senior citizens.
  • New construction and modernization of senior citizen housing and residences.

The congress was organized by the Forum for Economic Development & Entrepreneurship and hosted by the National Institute of Economics and the Adam Smith Center.

The first congress of the Polish senior citizens economy created a new model for private and public investment in services for the elderly. Congress participants rated the potential of the industry and its importance to the national economy, especially for the labour market. Services for seniors open up new employment opportunities in small and medium-sized centers that are now threatened by depopulation and chronic unemployment among young people and people aged 50+.

In addition to a presentation program, the event provided discussions on various topics. As part of the topic “Labour Market, Training and New Training Facilities for Professionals” Ursula Taege from TÜV Rheinland Academy in Germany presented the German education system of the nursing profession as well as the Professional Academy for Nursing at TÜV Rheinland. Anna Konewecka from TÜV Academy Polska shared experiences from the project “Education of Nursing Assistants with Personal Certification”. In this project, the academy in Poland trained Polish experts in 24-hour-care in Germany on behalf of temporary employment agencies. Further training for nursing staff is under preparation.

TÜV Rheinland Authorized Training Centers in Moscow and Novovoronezh

In January, TÜV Rheinland Authorized Welding Training Centers obtained the center for the Russian non-state educational organization “Educational Center for the Professional Training for Workers of the Construction and Assembly Complex of the Nuclear Sector” (NOU UZPR). The training facilities in Moscow and Novovoronezh passed the authorization audit with flying colors.

Systematic HR Development for Construction Projects in the Russian Nuclear Sector

One of the founders of the educational organization is the nuclear industry self-regulated organization (SRO NP) “Soyuzatomstroy”. The certification is part of the systematic approach of nuclear industry self-regulated organizations to provide nuclear construction projects in Russia and abroad with qualified staff.

TÜV Rheinland Authorized Welding Training Centers (TR aSK) ensure the quality training of welders and welding specialists oriented towards real-life requirements. The training is based upon currently applicable German and international norms, regulations and laws. The authorization, monitoring and de-authorization are carried out by PersCert TÜV welding department.

The authorization by PersCert TÜV, the personnel certification body of TÜV Rheinland, allows the training center both to prepare welders and professionals in non-destructive testing for deployment on all construction sites, including abroad, and to train foreign workers.

TÜV Rheinland Quality Management Training at ASMC in Russia

ASMC includes TÜV Rheinland Quality Management Training Courses.

According to the cooperation agreement between the federal governmental educational establishment of advanced and professional trainings “Academy of Standardization, Metrology and Certification ASMC” Russia and TÜV Rheinland Academy, ASMC now includes TÜV Rheinland training courses in the training program of the academy.

After harmonization the first training programs ASMC and TÜV Rheinland Academy will qualify in Russia experts in management systems that meet the requirements of both, international standards, Russian standards, and standards of the Customs Union. The benefit for the students is the opportunity to get an international certificate. After passing both, training and exam according the requirements of the international personnel certification body – PersCert TÜV – the graduates will recieve international certificates.

Starting 1/Dec/13 interested parties in Russia may register for the following pilot courses at ASMC:

  • Quality Representative
  • Quality Manager
  • Quality Auditor

TÜV Rheinland Welder Training sets Standards in Russia

Modulare Welder Training for Construction Industry in Russia

On September 6, 2013 in Moscow Alexander Ishin, Vice President of the National Association of Builders, Valery Telichenko, Rector of the National Research University Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU), and Siegfried Schmauder, Executive Vice President Training & Consulting of TÜV Rheinland, signed the protocol on transfer of welder training program.

As part of the common pilot project “Vocational Training of Welders”, both sides agreed the transfer of the TÜV Rheinland training program. MGSU will translate and update it according to the needs of the Russian market, including the implementation of complementary methods of the Russian program corresponding to the requirements of the normative guidelines of NOSTROY.

Finally the National Association of Builders will give an expert witness regarding the completed material and realize the practical approbation in the Russian Federation on TÜV Rheinland authorized welding training centers.

During the stay in Moscow, the delegation of TÜV Rheinland met the management of MGSU and visited the training facilities.

Background information

2011 management boards of TÜV Rheinland and NOSTROY signed a Memorandum of Interest. Two working groups were originated: „Supervision“ (BS I) and „Training“ (BS T). According to current needs of the Russian market against the background of the reforms of the professional training in Russia at all, the group „Training“ focuses on training of construction machine and crane as well as welder training. „Vocational Training of Welders“ became the first project of this group. Finally, during a working meeting with representatives of NOSTROY and MGSU in Juni 2013 in Berlin, the Russian side had learned about the modular training program, visited training facilities of the Academy and talked to experts for welder training. After studying the program, they decided about the adoption to the Russian market.

Since 2003, the TÜV Rheinland Academy is an IRCA approved training organization. IRCA auditor training courses are offered by TÜV Rheinland everywhere in the world, in the area of Occupational Health & Safety, Energy, Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) as well as Quality or Environmental Management.

IRCA Lead Tutors and Product Managers of TÜV Rheinland meet on an annual basis, to share experiences, receive information on the latest developments and continuously improve trainings together. This year‘s meeting took place in early August in Cologne with 14 participants.

Premiere for Welding Specialists Training in Poland

Training Courses “Welding Specialist (TÜV)” resp. “Schweißfachmann (TÜV)” now available in Poland

In March 2013 PersCert TÜV certified that all participants of the Polish training course in welding supervision in Zabrze (Silesia, Poland) have acquired the qualification level of a Welding Specialist (TÜV) in conformity with TÜV Rheinland training and examination guideline 121. The training course of TÜV Akademia Polska, was held for the first time in Poland.

Curriculum according to the requirements
of International Institute of Welding (IIW)

The curricula for the training while working were created by the academy of TÜV Rheinland in Germany based on the requirements of the International Institute of Welding, IIW (IAB.252-07/Sv-00).

The program includes:

  • Welding processes and equipment (45 h)
  • Materials and their behavior during welding (47 h)
  • Construction and design (22 h)
  • Fabrication, applications engineering (53 h)
  • Fundamental practical skills (60 h)

 

Added Value for Graduates

“Welding Specialist (TÜV)” respectively “Schweißfachmann (TÜV)” is a professional qualification level certified by PersCert. PersCert is the independent personnel certification body of TÜV Rheinland, working on the base of ISO/IEC 17024. The International Standard sets out criteria for an organization’s certification program for individual persons. The qualification level is documented on CERTIPEDIA under the test mark ID 3011791121.
